Psychologen Kollektief Groningen (PKG) has a limited number of therapists who speak sufficient English for therapy.
Therefore, the waiting time for therapy may be longer than average.

 

 

If you are temporary in the Netherlands for study or work it is advisable to have an European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). With this card your treatment from PKG, and other care, is covered by your health insurance in your country of origin. You can request the card from your health insurer.

 

 

Without an EHIC card it is not sure if your treatment from PKG is covered under your health insurance from your country of origin. Care from a general practioner or hospital is mostly covered under foreign health insurance, but care in the Dutch mental health care (GGZ) can be an issue.

What we advise is that in advance of starting with a treatment from PKG that people inquire with their foreign health insurer if Dutch mental health care (Basis and Specialistische GGZ) is covered by their health insurance.

This is to prevent financial difficulties from arising when the treatment is finally declared.
